Our Honors Program is designed for students who want to challenge themselves in and outside of the classroom. If you've already shown strong performance in academics and extracurricular activities, Honors may be the perfect environment for you. You'll be part of a community of people like you who are pursuing their own academic growth and making significant contributions to their disciplines and the greater community.

Honors at Roanoke offers an intellectually engaging Honors-specific general education curriculum, significant mentoring and financial support for an individually designed Distinction Project to be achieved in the junior and/or senior year, a strong and supportive social community, and the opportunity to live in specially-designated Honors Program housing in New Hall (including for incoming freshmen). Our Program is designed to help you learn what you live for, and to ensure that you enter life after Roanoke with a well-rounded education in the best tradition of the liberal arts.

Students accepted to the honors program typically have an average SAT score of 1320 (M/V), ACT Score of 29 and strong GPA in college-preparatory courses. However, you are more than your scores!  SAT or ACT scores are not a requirement for admission into the program.  Application review is ongoing, so early applications are encouraged.  Honors Program applications received after March 15 will only be reviewed if space remains in the Program. Remember that we must have your complete Roanoke College application in order to review your application to the Honors Program.
